The Most Underrated Movie I’ve Ever Watched?

Underrated? If you weren’t among the new releases or the latest Blockbuster hits, we weren’t watching you.

You see, I come from the Blockbuster generation, when Friday nights weren’t simply Friday nights. They were a family production, and believe me, we had the whole thing down to a science.

There was a strategy involved. We knew when the new releases hit the shelves, what time to arrive, and exactly how to navigate that store. You didn’t just casually stroll into Blockbuster on a Friday evening. Not if you knew what you were doing.

And we knew what we were doing.

I could take you through that entire obstacle course, including the suspiciously convenient location of pizza restaurants. Whoever came up with that arrangement deserves a standing ovation.

But the beauty of those Fridays wasn’t just bringing home the latest movie.

It was the anticipation. The family piled into the car. The negotiations over what everyone wanted to watch. The pizza order. The ride home. And finally, everyone settling in together for the evening.

All of that, for family movie night.

Imagine that.

So, the most underrated movie I’ve ever watched? I couldn’t tell you.

But ask me about the golden age of Friday nights, and I could keep you entertained for hours.

Because back in our day, family movie night and underrated didn’t exactly run in the same circles.
