Daily writing prompt
If humans had taglines, what would yours be?

Because “Fuhgeddaboudit” can mean: incredible, impossible, forgiven, or final—
because sometimes one word is enough to say it all, without saying too much.

Let me explain.

I’m behind the bar in a burgundy velvet dress, wiping down a shot glass that’s seen more heartbreak than the preacher’s confessional. A young thing storms in, sobbing over a man with too many boots under too many beds.

She asks me if she should give him another chance.

I tuck a curl behind my ear, lean in close, and say gently—with a smile that knows too much:
“Honey… fuhgeddaboudit.”

Still don’t get it?
Let me try another story.

I’m leaning back in a dusty poker hall, smoke swirling like secrets, silver flask still warm in my hand.
The man across the table accuses me of cheating—his voice louder than his wit. He reaches for his gun.

I don’t flinch.
I smile the kind of smile that’s been sharpened on regret and bourbon.
Then I say it, cool and low:
“Son… if I were you, I’d take a step back and fuhgeddaboudit.”

And just like that—
I remind him what it really means:
Let it go, or you won’t like what’s next.

And if I still gotta explain it?

Fuhgeddaboudit.
