Dear Money,

We’ve had a pretty toxic relationship.

You act like I want to spend all day thinking about you. You keep showing up, trying to call the shots, tempting me to center my life around you.

But let’s be clear.

I’ve placed boundaries. You may not have noticed, but you work for me — not the other way around.

I know I usually only talk to you when I’m complaining there’s not enough of you. That’s fair. So today, at minimum, thank you.

Thank you for the coffee that kept me awake during my work meeting. Thank you for the quiet ways you show up — the small comforts that make life easier.

I’ve been treating you like you’re the problem.

But really… you’re not.

Let’s face it.

We’re friends.

Just remember — I decide what matters. You just pay the invoice.
