“Some people hear God’s voice. I apparently needed motion sickness first.”

What gives you direction in life?

It’s a question so big, it doesn’t knock on your door—
it just sits across the street.
Waves at you.
Gives you the choice.
Watches you grow up.
Waits.

You might not notice Him at first.
Too many distractions.
Too many directions.
Too much noise pretending to be music.

So off we go—sprinting in the direction of what we think will make us happy.
A degree. A title. A relationship.
That one thing we saw someone else post about.

And let me tell you: that pursuit?
It’s a roller coaster.

By definition: A thrilling ride with sudden drops, sharp turns, and unpredictable jerks.
By experience: A thrill of emotions that eventually makes your soul dizzy.
By wisdom:  Stop renewing your season pass.

But some of us?
We don’t jump off.
We stay on for Y-E-A-R-S.
Throwing our hands up like we’re fine
while silently praying for the exit.

And somewhere during one of those loops—
when your stomach drops and your heart hurts—
you look across the tracks…
And notice the Friend who never left.
The One who was waving the whole time.
Jesus.

He doesn’t yank you off.
He just smiles.
Offers you that wave again.
Gives you a choice—again.
Because love never forces.

The path is clear now.
